With the recent news that school will start as 100% distance learning, I need to be prepared to deliver high-quality instruction, despite not being in the classroom with my students. I am confident that if equipped with the right tools, I will be able to develop strong relationships with my students, therefore providing them with the support they will need to be able to learn and enjoy the sixth-grade math and science content. I will also be able to help them navigate the inevitable challenges that will come with distance learning and the anxiety they may develop during these uncertain times. I plan to create and deliver high-quality lessons accessible to all learners in my class. An iPad will allow me to use many different apps and the built-in camera to enhance my lessons, making them more engaging for my students. I will also be able to quickly and effectively communicate with my students and their families using the applications available on the iPad. The Belkin Stand will allow me to demonstrate science experiments and concepts and teach math concepts and model strategies using manipulatives. Essentially, it will allow me to use the iPad as a document camera so I can record/demonstrate lessons easily-opposed to just holding it, or using a traditional iPad stand.
