Our classroom is a safe, comfortable environment where students are happy to be with one another. During Reader's Workshop, students can be found lying on the carpet, sprawled out on a beanbag chairs, or relaxing under their desks listening to the mellow sounds of new age music. The remainder of the morning includes a rotation cycle of practicing reading skills, followed by independent writer's workshop. Mid morning math usually begins with a number talk, shared strategies, lessons, and practice. Most students are not shy about sharing strategies and leading discussions. Afternoons include alternating project based STEM and social studies activities. Students enjoy working collaboratively. Make sure to use the promo code "Liftoff" to double donation at checkout!!!
