My students attend a traditional school in the public school district. It is a school-of-choice so parents from across the District choose to put their children in our school if they want a strict dress code, traditional education, high standards, and agree to oversee the homework. Students in Arizona are required to take the AIMS (Arizona Instrument to Measure Standards) test each year and to pass it in order to graduate from High School. My students are hard workers but have a hard time in math. They are now taking a class that focuses on a review of math concepts that will help them pass the AIMS. The class needs to be tailored to their needs and the Singapore power points are animated instruction that will get their attention and give them ways to remember how to solve word problems.
