I teach at a vibrant urban school serving a diverse community, where many of our students face significant challenges. In my class, I work with 6th to 8th graders who are among the lowest 25-30% in Math and Reading, often due to previous struggles and not passing state exams. Our students face various obstacles, including language barriers, socio-economic hardships, and learning disabilities. Despite these challenges, we are committed to rekindling their enthusiasm for learning, particularly in Math—a subject where past negative experiences can make re-engagement difficult.
