Here at the Mill Road Elementary Garden Program we serve over 700 K-5 students! Each class has their own interests, strengths, and passions in the garden and we do our best to give them the tools (literally and figuratively) to best explore them! Even if gardening is not a students favorite, the opportunity to be outside, roam through the lush gardens, and try fresh produce is always exciting. There is something special that happens when a student tries food they grew for the first time. Even the often overlooked radish becomes a delight when you can taste the love and care that went into it. We are as delighted as our students when we can fill up the cafeterias and salad bars with student-grown fruits and veggies, we only wish they could stick around for the summer harvest!
