Whenever people cringe as I tell them the age I teach, it makes me smile. I know the ‘bad rap’ that middle schoolers get. But from my perspective, the challenge of getting them to like school is worth it! My students are inquisitive, energetic, and want to learn! I love to help them meet the standards and beyond! This requires scaffolding and modeling what excellence looks like. Empowering them to collaborate and develop creative projects is my favorite thing about what we do! Sometimes there are hurdles along the way but working through them is what it’s all about. The process is just as important as the product.
