At the beginning of the school year, developing a sense of community in the classroom is paramount. This is especially true for Pre-Kindergartners: developing social skills and emotional intelligence is part of the curriculum. But how can we build community when half of the class is in school and the other is learning remotely? A webcam will help all of my students connect with each other everyday, regardless of their physical presence in class. We can build relationships through daily Zoom meetings. When we can all meet together in class, we will meet as friends and not strangers.
