My students are bright, enthusiastic learners who come to the library with different interests, experiences, and reading confidence levels. As the school library media specialist, I can reach students across all grade levels. For many, the library is where they discover the book, series, character, or topic that finally gets them excited about reading. They especially love graphic novels, high-interest series, nonfiction, humor, and books they can connect with. My students deserve a library that invites them to explore, wonder, and discover the joy of reading. The right book can help a reluctant reader experience that powerful moment when reading changes from something they have to do into something they want to do.
