At HPHS I teach a group of hardworking and eager students with a diverse mix of cultural backgrounds. The classroom is devoid of traditional resources found in other areas where I have taught. It does not phase students though, the atmosphere is usually buzzing with an undeniable energy. Learners trust that together we will make a way to inquire about the world around us. Their passion fuels my own. We engage in collective brainstorming and share ideas and observations about environmental issues affecting the local community. Students propose innovative solutions. They utilize their collective knowledge and personal experiences to analyze phenomena. Every day I am fortunate to bear witness to the resilience and adaptability of these scholars. The more I learn about each student's story, the more I am in awe of them. I hope they are learning and growing as much as I am!
