Welcome to Social Studies! In our classroom, history is not just a collection of dates and facts—it is a live story made up of human choices, diverse perspectives, and powerful turning points. Guided by a background in special education and Universal Design for Learning (UDL), I structure our classroom so that every learner can access high-level historical content. Through choice-based assignments, multi-modal materials (visuals, primary sources, audio supports, and literature), and scaffolded instruction, students are empowered to think like historians. We prioritize deep conceptual understanding, critical thinking, and individual growth over rote memorization. Our classroom is a supportive community where diverse learning styles are celebrated, barriers are removed, and every student receives the exact tools they need to succeed.
