My student live in the inner city in a metropolitan area in California. They all are bilingual and have limited economical resources. Most of their parents have double jobs to make ends meet. Most of my students have had a loss in their family or have at least one family member that is deported or in prison. My students are very curious, cheerful and team oriented. They love Art and express themselves fully when we have our afternoon art class. They are pro problem solvers because they are trained since they are little to help out in their families. Many of them translate into English for their parents, baby-sit little siblings or even cook for the family.
