This year I am lucky enough to work with a group of seventeen third graders. While this is my first year as a elementary school teacher, I was fortunate enough to work with the same group of kids I did my student teaching with. With knowing these kids a little already, I was able to truly develop my relationships with my students and I am now able to design and develop instruction specifically for them! Our classroom is plant themed and we have a growth mentality set for our space. The kids find our classroom calming and feel ready to get work done without feeling overwhelmed, even when things get tough. In our plant themed room, we have a plant friend named, "Pokey" The students and I named our succulent plant at the beginning of the year and we measure it on a weekly basis. The kids love the fact we have our Pokey and we get to measure all at the same time!
