With a shortage of devices at our school, this laptop touch screen computer will be used for students who require alternative learning due to the nature of their special needs. The evidence-based computer programs (Centervention, Oneder) will read aloud and one (Centervention) provides a video game-like experience to keep their interest and teach social emotional skills. They also will be able to use the laptop to meet their educational needs. The laptop will also allow for this worker to provide group services via a smartboard to utilize mindfulness videos, skill-building videos, and social stories. There are so many great resources online now and my students deserve to be able to access them!
