!!!FCAT!!! Did you see the results of FCAT this year? 44% of FL 3rd grade students scored a level 1 or 2 in reading. These are NON-PASSING scores!!! This is unacceptable, and I want to do my part to raise the achievement gap. I teach at a Title I magnet school where 96% of kids are on free and reduced lunch. We have a wonderful group of kids year in and year out; Our faculty is built with some of the most caring, hard-working, inspiring teachers possible. Each year, the bar for student achievement gets raised; students are required to know more and more, yet there isn't enough time in the day or resources to keep our students motivated and highly educated. We've seen our school go from an A to a B school, and we are motivated to seek opportunities for growth in all places; this project is one of those places. Students in all grade levels and subject areas will benefit greatly from this resource.
