Each year in second grade, we hatch chicks as part of our animal life cycles unit. In the past, we have received the supplies from our local 4-H club. Unfortunately, the equipment is outdated and inconsistent and we had little success last year. I would like to provide my class with the experience of hatching chicks with a brand new incubator to ensure success and make it a fun and positive experience! Students will be able to see first hand the birth of a live animal, they will care for these chicks until they are old enough to go to a local farm.

About my class
