Our school is one of the biggest in our school district. Almost 80% of our students come from low income households and receive a free or reduced lunch. The student population at my school is 31% Hispanic, 37% African American, 19% Caucasian, 2% Asian, and 11% Other My students range from Kindergarten to 4th grade. Resources here are limited. Students love coming to the gym so that they can run, kick, and throw. More and more research has shown that exercise in not only great for your muscles, heart, and lungs, but also very beneficial for your brain! Students that exercise regularly do better is school. I work to give my students the skills they need to live a healthy lifestyle starting today.
