My students live in the South Bronx, in one of the poorest congressional districts in the country. The school's population is predominately Hispanic and African American. In addition, most of my students live in single-headed households and qualify for free lunch. Despite these odds, my students continue to strive! They are smart, hard workers, talented, energetic, and have the impetus to succeed. Most importantly, they love to be recognized at Award Ceremonies for their success.
