Many of my students come from low socioeconomic backgrounds and struggle each day for basic necessities. As a result, many of my students suffer from various conditions that make it a challenge for them to focus and pay attention for long periods of time. These headphones that I am requesting will allow my students to learn in a quiet and uninterrupted environment and will allow them to focus while completing small group instruction and state-mandated assessments. Students will also use these headphones while working independently and cooperatively in literacy and math learning centers. The headphones will also allow students to listen to various text and web-based programs while blocking out background noise that can cause students to be unfocused.
