These kits will help my students learn to collaborate within small groups in order to plan and construct these structures. Collaboration is an extremely important skill that my students come into second grade having little or no experience with working in groups to accomplish a task. In addition, they will utilize critical thinking skills as they work together. My inquisitive students will utilize critical thinking skills in order to problem-solve as they work both with the kits and with each other. These activities will help them become more confident in themselves as they improve their communication and hands-on skills by building these kits.
