I have a plan to help students get to have hands-on science at home. I am grouping students into groups of 4 to do labs using zoom at home. My plan is to take the lab materials to one of the 4 student's homes. The students will work together to complete the lab while only one will have the materials to use. Next time, materials will go to another student's home and will repeat throughout the year so everyone gets time to have supplies. To make this work we need to: 1. Be able to deliver the lab supplies to homes with containers 2. More importantly, we need to make it seem like a secret mission (to increase engagement). I have enough lab supplies to make this work, mostly (lookout for a new DonorsChoose in the future). I want these boxes so I can deliver them in an exciting way. I will be delivering a box that has a lock on it filled with unknown supplies. The students will not get the code to open it until they are on a zoom with me. Think about how much this changes the excitement of virtual learning! Plus they get hands-on science!
