Through the use of targeted reading instruction, conferencing with students and data collection, we can rebuild not only students' reading abilities and confidence, but also their self confidence and emotional well being. The use of this technology will give access to students who are learning face to face, as well as those who are in distance learning. The goal of this project is to help students close their learning gap on all Reading foundations Nevada Academic Content Standards (RF.1.1, RF.1.2, RF.1.3, RF.1.4). The iPad requested in this project will be used for projecting leveled readers with small groups and for progress monitoring of student growth. The results of the progress monitoring will be used to discuss goal setting with students to promote their motivation and academic growth.
