My kids are going to be the change makers! They love to wallow in complex ideas and debate multiple sides of an issue. Fenger serves about 400 students from the Altgeld Gardens, West Pullman and Roseland areas. Ninety-nine percent of our student body is from a minoritized community. Two percent of our students meet requirements for reading proficiency. HOWEVER, my students are academically curious, hungry for new learning, LOVE books, and are brilliant in so many ways that aren't measured by tests. Building their literacy as measured by the academy will allow them to more easily share their brilliant insights into the world.
