The use of these aprons is to not only help students be safe during labs but also to make each student feel like a scientist. When students come into class and have the option to have their own apron, they will feel like they belong in the classroom doing unique labs even if they do not think that science is their strong subject. Along with safety, these aprons will be part of a pre-lab at the start of the school year to help students get comfortable in a lab setting and review safety protocols. Helping students gain an interest in science is one of my goals and I believe that giving the students an opportunity to have their own equipment will support them. By donating to this project, you will not only help to improve and increase student safety, you will ultimately help to increase their attraction to science.
