My students attend an inner city public middle school and entered sixth grade with an incredibly wide range of academic skills. Some students are struggling to read books on a second grade level while others are devouring high school level books. My students love the idea of reading, even if their skills are well below grade level. My higher level students ask every three days for a new book to challenge them. All of my students, whether they're reading on a third or eighth grade reading level, deserve to have access to books that will challenge and inspire them.
