One of the joys of being a teacher is being able to provide a safe and supportive environment in which students are encouraged and inspired. Two ways I can create this environment are through maintaining a clean classroom and providing for students' needs. My school is a wonderful Title I school that sees a lot of turnover among the janitorial staff. Because of this, teachers are often responsible for making sure our classrooms are sparkling and prepared for students on Monday. Having a classroom vacuum, cleaning supplies, and an oil diffuser would help me to maintain a clean and fresh classroom in which my students want to be. Additionally, not all my students have the resources to be adequately prepared to learn every day and having a good supply of pencils and granola bars will help me to help them be the best students they can be!
