Mountain View is highly diverse, welcoming students from around the world. My resource classroom reflects this diversity. My students bring a wide variety of cultures, strengths and challenges with them. While endlessly interesting, this also creates instructional challenges. I try to ensure that all of my students participate in meaningful instruction, supporting their academic, social and emotional growth. All my students are capable of learning grade level core material, but they do need access to diverse means of accessing information and demonstrating what they know. Einstein said, "Everyone is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will spend its entire life believing it is stupid." Technology provides my students the opportunity to expand their learning, books reflective of my students' cultures allow them to themselves in a positive way. Both of which help my students soar high!
