Most special needs children have difficulty with self regulating. These sensory items will help my students find peace and tranquility in their sensory bin. These students use the sensory bin to decompress or a way to calm down. We have themes each week in our classroom and we change our sensory bin out to match the theme. The sensory bin allows the students to relax and self regulate with tactile sensory stimuli. The items in the sensory bin have appropriate textures to allow the child to feel and explore. By having a sensory bin in the classroom and the ability to change the items out to coordinate with our themes allows the students to explore a variety of media.
