These manipulatives will be used during small group time to foster social relationships between students while improving their fine motor skills. Throughout the pandemic ,students have focused most of their skills to using technology. Technology is wonderful but too much screen time has left my first graders with below average fine motor skills and low social skills. These manipulatives with help students bond socially during group time as well as improve their muscle tone. Improved muscle tone will help with handwriting, cutting, and gluing. While playing, my students will learn crucial social skills that they missed out on during remote learning.
