My students love lessons that are hands-on because it helps them grasp difficult math concepts and vocabulary. The variety of math manipulatives I am requesting such as magnetic tiles, will enable them to explore and have a concrete idea of what they are learning in math. In addition, my students enjoy learning about math content in which they are able to make real-world connections. The materials I am requesting will foster collaboration among my students, an important skill necessary for success in a learning environment. Right now, I am only able to use math manipulatives with a small group. I am looking to expand my collection of math manipulatives to ensure each student is able to participate in group activities. Many of my students, who come from a low socio-economic status, deserve an opportunity to use resources such as math manipulatives to support their academic learning.
