These graphing calculators are necessary to meet the requirements by the State of Oklahoma as part of their standards in Algebra 1; teaching the students to use today's technology. My classroom only has a standard scientific calculator for the students' use. I would like to work my way into a classroom set of 30 graphing calculators since I have class sizes of up to thirty students so that my students can meet all of their state standards and move on to the higher math classes and on into college fully prepared to tackle what lies ahead of them. My students, being comprised of many, many low-income households, are not able to afford such items as these graphing calculators to aid in their education and it is usually up to the school to assist however we can.
