These materials will create a calming space for students to relax, reboot, and calm down when escalated or when we want to prevent escalation. Included in the project for this calming area are a bean bag chairs, soothing lights, and light covers. Students will be able to access these materials to calm down and then apply the coping skills they have been taught in SEL lessons. This is meant to be a safe space to help students regroup and return to learning in a calm, focused way. I want my students to feel comfortable and safe when they come to my classroom. I have several students who are easily agitated and need to take a few minutes to de-escalate. T
