SCENARIO: The zombie horde has surrounded our school! You and your friends are trapped on the roof without any way of contacting help. The power is out. Uh-Oh! You and your friends friends have ran your phone dead watching Tik-Tok! Wait! you just remembered those solar panels down in old man Shuey's room. Can your group get the solar panel, charge your phones, and call for help before the zombie horde breaks through? Grading Criteria: 100 percent charged phone= a grade of 100. Students will pair up and properly set up the solar kit (requested in this project) to charge their phones. I will check the percentages of their phone charges and average them together for a grade. They have 50 minutes. We will go outside for this lab. This lab will satisfy these standards Sunshine State Standards: SC.912.E.6.6: Analyze past, present, and potential future consequences to the environment resulting from various energy production technologies. SC.912.L.17.20: Predict the impact of individuals on environmental systems and examine how human lifestyles affect sustainability. SC.912.L.17.11: Evaluate the costs and benefits of renewable and nonrenewable resources, such as water, energy, fossil fuels, wildlife, and forests.
