I know I picked quite a few items, but i can honestly tell you that they are all needed. The ages of birth through 5 are the most crucial in our brain for learning. Preschool years set the stage for how a child not only learns, but also socializes for years to come. Head Start already serves at risk children and I want to use all my knowledge and ideas as a teacher that i've gathered over the last 12 years and put it towards my new classroom. All the things i have asked for are needed to inspire creative learning, concept building, reach kindergarten readiness goals, social skills...and also just mere comfort. I promise you any items are appreciated. Everything on this list will be used in the classroom on a daily basis....and yes, all the skills and comfort they create while they are used here will be carried home in the children's brain and heart now and forever. I appreciate your time.
