My main objective is to provide my class with the proper materials in order to properly focus on reading skills. These books will allow me to read aloud to my students while the students are following along in their own books. We as teachers will be modeling fluency, expression, comprehension skills, thinking out loud, and understanding the text in a deeper way. This ensures that the students take all of those best practices and put them into place when they are reading independently. These books will provide opportunities to dig deeper during guided reading and small group discussions. I can help my students, along with the help of donors, by providing my students with these books that will help fill the academic gaps. The books I have chosen will allow me to integrate language, writing, science, social studies, social and emotional skills as well as art.
