The 9th Grade Girls Empowerment Group needs high intensity reading materials to help build self-esteem and pride. I'm interested in giving our girls varied opportunities to read about successful women of color. This book is enlightening and inspirational. Michelle Obama's Becoming, will provide a glimpse into the life of a successful African American woman who looks like them. They will be provided with an opportunity to explore the endless possibilities that an education can provide, in a community environment of like-minded young ladies. Please fully fund this endeavor. Thank you!
