There is no better feeling than walking into a learning space that is pleasing to the senses. My classroom, also known as "the ag room", until recently could have been described as outdated and in desperate need of some attention. I have chosen to request a new glass dry-erase board, a vacuum cleaner, and an essential oil diffuser. After becoming the agricultural advisor in July 2021, I completely decluttered, redesigned, and repainted the room in an effort to give it a more relevant, updated atmosphere. These improvements made a huge difference, with the exception of two giant, ancient chalkboards. I have repainted them three times to try to revamp them, but they still look old and unattractive. By replacing one of them with a modern, glass dry-erase board, the subjects we are studying can seem more relevant to students than when classroom fixtures are so out-of-date, and the students will become more engaged. I am responsible for keeping the classroom clean and currently have been using my personal vacuum to do so (My building is separate from the main building). In addition, an essential oil diffuser would add freshness and vitality to the atmosphere. Students should have an opportunity to learn in a positive, comfortable environment so that they can enjoy the learning process. We are working hard to take an important, vital program that had plateaued for many years to a new level of success and growth. These additions would be very helpful to us.
