My students will be able to draw in sketch books, paint with acrylic paints, use chalk pastels, and oil pastels to create art projects. The techniques that are learned in these projects are often new to the students. It is self-gratifying to the students when they create a work that they are proud of. Art allows their minds to relax. It is through this type of therapy that they can learn to explore emotions, reduce anxiety, and increase self-esteem. Covid-19 has definitely increased these mental health issues. Having these art supplies would definitely benefit these students dealing with distance learning, who suffer with so much in their everyday lives.
