After teaching in first grade for almost a decade, I was involuntarily moved to Kindergarten. Luckily, I love it! However, I am in need of several things to enhance my students' learning. One much needed item is a listening center. My students love to be read to, but I don't have enough time in the day to read from 8am-3:30pm. Giving them a listening center will expose them to more stories and independent and partner reading. It will help them gain fluency and vocabulary knowledge. It will also provide a center for students to work independently and quietly at while I do small groups. Another needed item is simple but important. Our classroom needs updated color and shape posters to refer to. Learning their shapes and colors is an essential building block in their education. A third item is another independent center item. Magna-tiles would provide a STEM center that is fun and engaging. Another item on my list is TPT gift cards. I lack in my Kindergarten curriculum and would absolutely love to not reinvent the wheel.
