I teach a leadership class. We are working on identifying individual growth. Part of that is dropping our cool and "buying in" to being better while also being different than the everyday student. Teenagers need the opportunity to stand out, they seek it. This book motivates kids to look beyond themselves for the betterment of the whole, not just the individual. We must start with the individual to get whole buy-in. Tribes is a book that will challenge my students to go beyond themselves and seek motivation from within to better their school community.
