Computer science is one of the most essential skills students can learn at this time! It has become a staple in the background of our everyday life, and students are being taught how important coding is in this day and age in my classroom. I strive to give them the most well rounded education that I can, but that has proved difficult with the presence of a worldwide pandemic. I believe that hands-on learning is the key to success. These Osmo Coding Kits provide an engaging stepping stone program that combines digital learning with hands-on materials. Students will use these kits to progress from learning basic coding mechanics to solving complex problems. This coding kit has a major benefit for the learners that have been left behind in the pandemic too, it is highly accessible for developing readers! My students struggle with our coding curriculum at times because they need to be able to read in order to understand what to do. This program uses pictures and audio to support struggling learners and allow them to code just like everyone else.
