As a first year teacher, I am relying heavily on the materials, curriculum, and resources that have been passed from generation to generation. While these resources are helpful and effective, I would like new, fresh, and more inclusive materials to use within my classroom. I have a high percentage of English Language Learners in my room, and I would like the chance to purchase a full reading passage curriculum that focuses on English and Spanish vocabulary. The Teachers Pay Teacher gift cards would allow me to purchase differentiated worksheets for all levels of reading; my reading groups range from kindergarten reading level to 10th grade reading level. I currently don't have any resources to address this level of differentiation. Most of my students are learning virtually, and these gift cards would allow me to purchase activities and games that I can use digitally to enhance learning! I have a chance to create rockstar readers. I really feel as though I have a chance to change lives; I know all teachers say this, but I truly feel this in my bones. My students want to learn, but I don't think I have the materials and resources to fully engage the learning. I am in the market for supplemental reading passages, curriculum, and practice to be used in the classroom and with virtual learning!
