The "Exploring the Microscopic World" Project will provide students with the opportunity to see a plethora of life previously invisible to them. These microscopes will be used for life sciences. We have already utilized them in a few different ways. The students have had a very positive response to identifying and analyzing the microscopic world. We are currently utilizing our three functioning microscopes, but with a class of 30-36 students, that number is not enough. This project will ensure that each student gets more hands-on time manipulating and viewing through a microscope. Examples of our microscopic exploration include life in pond water, cellular structure of plants and animals, fecal sampling the FFA show animals, and inspecting countless other facets that the students are curious about. I have had students ask to use the microscopes during their lunch period. They are asking for more opportunities. I want to fuel this inquisitive nature for students that have missed out due to COVID-19.
