The viewfinder safari kit will allow guided and open ended exploration of animals and their habitats for young students. First students will all be issued their magic safari camera (viewfinder). Each camera will be preset with the same picture disk so that we can take a guided trip through a biome together to discuss the animals and their habitat. Students will then be asked to create a drawing of their favorite animal from that biome. After our viewfinder safari, students can explore the kits and puzzles as stations to continue and reinforce the learning process. Our school will use this kit for both classes of second graders to support science learning in this year and for many years to come. Due to the pandemic our ability to take field trips has been limited. This project will give us a field trip we can take anytime. Each child will have their own viewfinder which will not only make the our virtual safari more engaging it will also help us keep our germs to ourselves.
