Flexible seating in a classroom setting helps students feel as though they have a choice in their classroom environment. Students learn in a variety of different ways, and should not be inhibited due to the discomfort of a standard chair option. I currently have a couple of seating options in my classroom, that are constantly requested by my students. An additional option would provide more of my students the opportunity to find the location or option that best meets their needs. A variety of flexible seating options will enable my students with the power of choice, to select a chair that will allow them to be comfortable while completing their assignments. Allowing students the opportunity to select where they would like to sit, is a huge motivator!
