These materials would be used to create play-based learning experiences for my first-grade students. I have compiled materials that are connected to the concepts we engage in throughout the year and would provide students with play experiences. Play is such an important vehicle that drives student learning and I aim to bring play into the classroom whenever possible. By donating to this project, my students will be provided with materials that will create authentic play-based learning experiences in the classroom to enhance their understanding of the concepts we are learning and strengthen their social and emotional development. I have seen such powerful and important conversations be ignited when my students are playing. They can share and strengthen each other's knowledge by bringing in their prior experiences that another student may not have had. This ability for students to play and converse allows them to grow through one another and learn in a more engaging and relatable way.
