I am a new teacher who lacks a lot of tools and resources that older teachers have. During this first year of teaching, my class and I have been hit with all sorts of situations. Those situations range from covid outbreaks to construction in our building, and even having no playground. As new teacher I was terrified that my class would not have a positive year. Luckily, I have been gifted a class who is ready and determined to learn every day. My students are able to adapt to all my crazy ideas and love to learn with me. I have truly been blessed with such a happy bunch and they make the crazy days ten times better. They show me how to make tough situations easy. For my project I am asking for more tools and resources to help my students. I would like manipulatives such as Magna-Tiles, Crystal Climbers and Fidget Poppers because I have noticed that my class lacks fine motor skills. With these items I hope to create various ways to build their muscles to improve those skills. By improving those skills, they will be able to build on their writing skills. I have also asked for a class of dry erase boards and five trace and write the alphabet centers. I plan to use the dry erase boards in whole group to practice literacy skills and phonemic awareness skills. The trace and write center will be used in small groups to help those who are struggling writing their letters. The last set of items I am asking for art supplies. These supplies consist of paint dabbers, easy punch designs, and alphabet stamps. I plan to use these supplies in centers to help my kid’s imagination and creativity expand.
