The purchase of a machine like a Cricut for a visual arts classroom allows students to obtain hands-on experience in creating through many different forms of media. The current pandemic has limited the ability to bring community artists into the classroom, take field trips to museums, and being able to visit screen printers and other craftsmen/women for students to be able to see careers available in the arts. Even without being able to do these things the students still need to be able to experience some of them. Utilizing a Cricut in the classroom will allow students to get hands-on experience in creating work that could ignite a passion that turns into a future career. The products I have selected will pair with items that are already available in my classroom to expand the creative possibilities for students. Exposing students to a wide variety of visual arts careers will provide them with even more choices to obtain a bright future. With these supplies, I will be able to do that without ever having to leave the classroom.
