My students work on on levels. In my classroom we are working on 1st grade through 4th grade academic skills. In an Autism Spectrum Disorder class we have a difficult time with communication and social skills. This in turn makes academics even more difficult. Our classroom requires hands on and flexible seating including bean bag chairs for the best possible learning experience. Covid has caused my students to miss quite a bit of school. We have been unable to keep a schedule which has proved very difficult. My kiddos are not able to handle virtual school like their general education peers. They have missed one on one time when we are out for covid quarantine. With these manipulatives, workbooks, flex seating (bean bags), and headphones for use with their computers for academic learning. I am hopeful that my para professionals and I will be able to make gains and make up some lost learning.
