To reinforce lesson objectives, I often have my students perform certain geometric constructions. However, they get extremely frustrated with the compasses I currently have because they are old, cheaply made, and no longer hold their set lengths. This makes it difficult or impossible to create the desired outcome. This leads to students trying to share the few good ones in the room, which makes each project take way longer and students lose interest. These new compasses would allow my students the hands-on experience needed to fully grasp the geometry concepts.
