Weaving not only helps develop fine motor skills but it will also support their development of eye-hand coordination and concentration. It will also provide time to work collaboratively with other students, in which they will use and learn language concepts with each other while developing social skills. Students would have access to materials like a weaving loom in the classroom and different colored yarn, which can mixed and matched to promote the students to use their creativity while creating different weaving projects. This project can be used with different grade levels I work with in my art classroom.
